It is of no doubt that your office, be it a professional office in a corporate building or just a plain home office setting, you will spend some time in it equivalent to a big chunk of your active hours. Hence, one should make it a point to put some degree of effort in trying to keep the office clean most of the time. We have already tackled the most common office cleaning supplies which are the basic things needed to get going in making your office a non-filthy work area. However, there are other cleaning aids and supplies which have been consistently used these days and we will tackle them a bit just to be familiar with them. Likewise, we will also tackle some useful tips on how to use them and when to use them to clean the office as well.
Like most anti-germ cleaning agents, most cleaning products are concentrated solutions with the primary purpose to get rid of grimes and oils left at various office areas, furniture and equipment by various office occupants such as co-workers. Some cleaning chemicals may also be formulated mildly in order to avoid damaging the sensitive electrical or electronic equipment at the office. Many of these are well-known in their generic names such as: gum remover, ink stain remover, multi-purpose cleaner, bleach, air duster or even the plain old whiteboard cleaner.
Ink stain removers are usually used to get rid of stains resulting from ink spills, blotted ballpoint pens and in some cases, lipstick stains. Most of these stains cannot be removed by plain water alone.
Gum removers are chemicals primarily formulated to remove gum stains from the office carpet. They can also be effective for rug cleaning too. It is quite surprising why people irresponsibly leave those sticky gums on the floor. There may be situations where waxes may end up on those nice looking carpet floors. This remover will also get rid of those wax stains with relative ease.
All-purpose cleaners are generally used against grease and hardened dirt. They usually act by dissolving those hardened dirt and some stubborn grease. Formulation of all-purpose cleaners are mild to gentle thereby making them safe to use on tabletops and other office fixtures.
Bleaches are commonly used as disinfectants and the most active ingredient in them is chlorine. Chlorine is widely known as an effective disinfectant as it has the ability to kill a wide variety of harmful pathogens and microbes. These disinfectants can be applied either by manual wiping or by using a cleaning equipment such as an indoor washer. It would be unlikely to use heavy duty equipment such as power washers. They are mostly applicable for outdoor use where no items can be damaged by the splashes from the pressure washer parts such as the nozzles not to mention the large amounts of cleaning solution discharge they bring. Moreover, air dusters normally come in the form of a can filled with compressed air. They are normally used to remove those accumulated dust in sensitive electronic office equipment such as computers, fax machines, photocopiers and printers where any liquid cleaner may cause damage.
